The Early Contract Acceptance deadline is usually 1 week. This can vary year to year. Please refer to your Early Contract email for exact deadline dates.
SMAQ emails all athletes, whether receiving a contract or not, the same day as tryouts.
SMAQ never has more than 10 athletes on a team.
If you feel your child is up to playing at a higher age level, she may tryout for that age group. We recommend trying out for your age group and at check in for tryouts notify the SMAQ staff that you request your daughter play at a higher age level.
The OVR, as of 2023, is requiring 10 days to accept or deny a contract for all levels of contracts. 2023 is the first year that OVR is permitting summer tryouts. Make-Ups Tryouts acceptance/denial deadline may be shorter. Always refer to your contract email that you receive from SMAQ for official deadlines.
Yes. Our contracts are binding. It is critical for our teams that all acceptances will be playing on that team.
The club fees for every level will be listed on the SMAQ website. These are subject to change yearly.
2 Jerseys, 1 Spandex, 1 Long Sleeve Shirt, 1 Practice T-Shirt, Practice/Court Fees, Tournament Entry Fees, Coaching Fees, Admin Fees.
SMAQ Teams practice twice a week for 1.5-2 hours. This varies season to season.
MAQ & MAQ Fieldhouse at 12359 Abbey Rd. Bldg A & B North Royalton, OH. 44133
Each team will practice a few random times in December. Official practices will start the first week of January. This is subject to change yearly. Tournaments are randomly attended from January thru end of April/middle of May depending on the age. If you are on an American Bid or National level team, your season may be longer if you end up receiving a Bid.
SMAQ teams will attend 8 tournaments total. Normally 1-2 days long. American Bid and higher-level teams may attend 3-day tournaments.
This varies team to team. SMAQ admin cannot enter tournaments until they are listed on the AES website or sanctioned by the OVR. All tournaments are normally finalized for each team by Christmas.
Athletes will also need an OVR Membership which is around $67 (subject to change per OVR). Some teams may also require an AAU Membership which is around $14 (subject to change per AAU). Instructions on how to obtain memberships will be provided following offer acceptance. Food, transportation, and lodging for away tournaments is not included in your club fee.
Yes. If your team qualifies for a Bid in the middle of the summer, there will be an extra fee. If this is the case, SMAQ staff will be in touch via email once the Bid is received.
SMAQ practices out of the MAQ facility. They handle sport specific personal training lessons. If interested in lessons, contact MAQ at 216-246-0424.
